The unit is comprised of 1 unit of competency. All unit requirements must be satisfactorily completed to be deemed Competent.

This unit has pre-requisite requirements. The following unit must be completed prior to completing this unit:

• HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

This program has been designed to prepare participants with the essential skills and knowledge required to execute rescue procedures from live low voltage (LV) electrical apparatus within the electricity supply industry (ESI). This training focuses on preparing individuals to respond effectively to emergency situations involving live LV panels, ensuring both personal safety and the safety of others in accordance with workplace requirements and relevant legislation.

Students must:

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Provide Australian legal photo identification for assessment purposes
• Ability to implement discretionary judgment and make decisions under supervision

This program will be delivered  face-to-face, with classroom-based learning and assessment.

This unit is made up of:

Face-to-face Classroom-Based Learning

Students are required to attend face-to-face classroom-based training sessions.

The face-to-face classroom-based component of this program is specifically designed to address the learning needs of the student cohort, promoting active participation and skill development through various engaging training techniques, including:

• Group-Based Summary and Practical Preparation: These sessions review key concepts from the self-directed learning phase, preparing students for hands-on practice.
• Group Discussions and Scenarios: Collaborative discussions and scenario-based learning foster critical thinking and application of theoretical knowledge in a practical context.
• Practical Exercises and Demonstrations: These activities are designed to demonstrate skill acquisition and reinforce theoretical knowledge through hands-on practice. 

Simulated Work / Industry Environment

• Components of this training program will be delivered and assessed in a simulated environment at the client’s premises.

The program is typically delivered over 4 hours and can be adapted to suit individual student needs and business requirements.

The program includes:

• Face-to-face classroom sessions
• 2 hours theory and practical learning activities
• 2 hours practical assessments in a real-life simulated environment

The actual duration will vary based on each student’s prior knowledge, skill level, and active participation. Additional learning support is available to ensure students are well-prepared for assessment activities.

Lexmar delivers and assesses this unit face-to-face at the student’s workplaces.

Credit Transfer are not available for the unit of competency UETDRMP018 Perform rescue from a live low voltage panel due to the licensing or regulatory requirements relating to this competency, including requirements for refresher training every 12 months as per industry standards.

Skills Recognition, commonly referred to as Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), is an assessment process that evaluates an individual’s formal, non-formal, and informal learning to determine the extent to which the individual has met the competency standards.

All students must complete an enrolment. You will receive further information from Lexmar Training to begin your enrolment process.

As part of the enrolment, students maybe required to undertake a Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital (LLND) Skills Assessment. This assessment helps determine your suitability for the program and ensures that your current skill levels align with the unit requirements.

Submitting an enrolment does not guarantee a place in the program. Lexmar Training carefully reviews each application to ensure students are placed into units where they are most likely to succeed.

Additional information and documentation may be required to process applications, including:

• Proof of identification (drivers’ licence, passport, photo ID card)
• Unique Student identifier (USI)
